As the year is about to end, twinkle-updates offers a compiled list of 10 Nollywood Stars that sadly passed away, early this year.
Early this year 2021, from January to March, the Nigerian Entertainment Industry (Nollywood), recorded the great loss of some movie stars.
In this article, I will want us to take out some moments, to remember the movie stars we will no more see on screens.
- Folake Aremu (Orisabunmi)
Our Yoruba movie star, Folake Aremu, is mostly called Orisabunmi.
She was the first to answer the call of nature this year, as she passed away on the 6th of January, after suffering a brief illness.
- Jim Lawson Madueke.
Our Nollywood Igwe (mostly acts as king in his movies), also joined the deceased after the departure of Orisbumi.
He was announced dead on 9th January, after a brief illness of body pain.
- David Mela.
A young rising movie actor, David Mela also answered the call of nature, as he was taken away by death on the 11th of January, 2021 as a result of illness.
- Sotonye Green.
According to Vanguard, Sotonye was announced as the first actress to be killed by Covid-19 in January.
- Eddyth Odidika.
Another young actress, Odidika also left the world, as she was announced dead on the 22nd of January, after battling with an infection.
- Dan Nkoloagu.
It came as a rude shock to family and well-wishers when the death of Dan Nkoloagu was pronounced on the 22nd of January, 2021.
Dan often played the role of an Elder in Nollywood movies.
- Ernest Asuzu.
Ernest Asuzu was also announced dead on 26th January, after a long battle with a stroke.
- Victor Becker.
Victor Becker was also announced dead in his home, located in Abuja, on the 16th of February, 2021.
- Nwani Okolo.
Nwani Okolo was also recorded to have died on 22nd February.,
His death was kept away from the public for some days, before being announced.
- Sadiq Daba.
3rd March, the Industry also got hit with the sad death of Sadiq Daba.
He died after a prolonged battle with Leukemia.
All the above-listed Nollywood stars, died early this year (from January to March).
They will no more be seen on screen.
